From sheltered barracks to an imposing luxury resort
With a total of 106 rooms and suites overlooking the sea, Pula's Heritage & Resort Hotel Monumenti is one of the most anticipated projects in recent years.
This is an investment worth €85 million, which marks the end of the ten-year investment cycle of Kermas Istra d.o.o. The project was built on the peninsula of St. Catherine, and it took place in two phases. The first included the construction of the Polesana marina with 400 berths, while the second included a thorough renovation of two protected Austro-Hungarian barracks and the construction of a completely new hotel wing. This created a spacious resort with its own beach, swimming pools, congress center, luxury accommodation and other top facilities.

The central restaurant has one of the most modern kitchens with an offer in accordance with the tradition and ingredients of Istrian gastronomy. ACO solutions for professional kitchens are designed to efficiently and safely drain and treat surface process water. Since we pay special attention to reducing the risk of food contamination, ACO hygienic box channels and ACO hygienic gullies with associated anti-slip electropolished grates were chosen. ↓
↑ The most sought-after drainage system for terraces, sunbathing areas, areas around indoor and outdoor pools, thanks to its narrow gap that replaces the grid and forms a clean, unobtrusive line on the surface, the ACO Slot 8 channel system with a gap - is always the perfect choice.
↑The ACO Multiline drainage system selected for use on walkable surfaces, with its optimal stability and V-section of the channel, will ensure high-quality and fast drainage of rainwater.
The inevitable ACO ACCESS COVERS UNIFACE access covers with double seal for waterproofing and gas-tightness fit discreetly into the surface where, after filling - the same as the rest of the floor covering - only the outlines of the TopTek cover frame remain visible.
↑ The peculiarity of the new resort lies in the fact that all rooms have a sea view, and in order for guests to enjoy maximum comfort while relaxing on their balconies, ACO Slot 64 channels with a discreet double slit were chosen. These modern design systems are intended for drainage of terraces with limited installation heights, and the Tile grid used here - for ceramic filling as well as the surrounding floor - further contributes to a sophisticatedly decorated balcony with breathtaking views.
↑ Shower areas in a hotel must primarily exude cleanliness and hygiene, and they bring with them a number of other components that must provide comfort and safety. The selected ACO ShowerDrain S+ shower channels are characterized by a clean and elegant design, while the stainless steel Plate grille also has an electropolished surface resistant to surface stains, which greatly facilitates cleaning and maintenance.
↑ The ACO Slot 8 duct system with a slit has found its application in the wellness and spa rooms of the Hotel, the sunbathing area around the outdoor pool and on the outdoor areas along the glass fence in front of the new glazed "deluxe" building where the future congress hall and bar are located. ↓
The unique ACO DRAIN Monoblok RD system has been developed for the highest requirements in terms of safety, resistance and durability. The V-section of the canal guarantees optimal hydraulic capacity, so it was chosen for transverse drainage at the very approach to the building from the land side. ↓
