Why DRINKTEC should be in your diary
We’re looking forward to attending DrinkTec from 11 to 15 September. Being held in Munich, Germany, the event happens only once every four years. Here we explain why we think this exhibition is a must for anyone working in the beverage and liquid food industries.
1. Size
The size and diversity of DrinkTec means there’s something of interest to everyone and key industry figures from across the globe attend. Described as the world’s leading trade fair for the beverage and liquid food industry, DrinkTec has 1600 exhibitors from more than 75 countries which exhibit in 15 different halls. Occupying 150,000m² of space, the exhibition attracts no less than 70,000 visitors from 180 countries!
2. Diversity
The launch and showcasing of new solutions, systems and products is a key part of the event whose organisers say they are want to highlight solutions for every application in the beverage and liquid food sectors. Catering for a wide range of needs, Drinktec is also divided into eight main sections: process technology for production; filling and packaging technology; process automation, engineering, control and IT; PETpoint covering PET Technology; containers, packing materials, and closures; raw materials, agents and additives; energy systems, water and waste water, and beverage marketing, restaurant and catering supplies and equipment. For the first time, there will also be a special exhibition section dedicated for the wine industry.
3. Multiple shows at once!
For the first time, the International Enological and Bottling Equipment Exhibition (SIMEI), the PRO FachHANDEL exhibition and the Oils + Fats International Trade Fair for Technology and Innovations will be part of DrinkTec.
SIMEI will occupy two halls and will feature machinery and systems for wine production and processing. PRO FachHANDEL, a trade fair for Germany’s beverage and convenience retailers, will be celebrating its premier at DrinkTec and is described as the perfect place to meet decision-makers and people who represent speciality retailers’ interests. While Oils+Fats is Europe’s only trade fair for the vegetable and animal oil and fat sector.
4. Educational opportunities & Networking
DrinkTec’s supporting programme includes some key forums and conferences around topical issues. Events include the DrinkTec Forum, BevTech Conference, European MicroBrew Symposium and SIMEI Knowledge & Innovation Area. The Innovation Flow Lounge and place2beer areas also provide additional networking opportunities.
