ACO hosts first EHEDG training event in China

Representatives of leading drainage company ACO assited to host the first EHEDG training to take place in China. Held at Shanghai Ocean University Food Science & Technology College, the EHEDG training day included sessions from Knuth Lorenzen, Dr.Barry Yang EHEDG Taiwan Section Chairman, Director of Taiwan Food Industry Research and Development Instituteand Mrs. Hui Zhang Unilever, Group Quality Excellence, Hygienic Processing and was co-hosted by the CIFST.

A total of 35 engineers from a wide range of food and drink organisations and relevant industries including Coca-Cola, Kangshifu instant noodles, the China Industry Dairy Department, Feihe, Starbucks and ECOLAB attended the event which also included a tour of the Guangming company’s diary plant in Shanghai.

Monica Chen, ACO Building Drainage Division Leader in China and Executive Committee member of EHEDG China, comments: “At ACO we are committed to helping EHEDG and other organisations raise awareness for the importance of hygienic engineering and design, and the impact it can have within the food and beverage industry. We were delighted to help facilitate this event, which is the first of many which EHEDG China hopes to organise.

Going forward we will also be working with organisations such as the CIFST to help EHEDG China to deliver key objectives which include the creation of a university degreee course in hygienic engineering and design, and establishing a national hygienic design standard."
